Meet Our Staff
Jeffrey F. Allen, DDS
Dr. Allen grew up in eastern Iowa and graduated from Augustana College in Illinois with a degree in Biology. He then entered dental school and earned his Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry, in 1987.
Dr. Allen and his wife Paula moved to Des Moines, where he worked in a group practice and she worked in management for Von Maur. The 9 years they spent in Des Moines allowed Dr. Allen to gain valuable dental experience and establish good working relationships with several specialists.
They moved to Pella in 1996 and Dr. Allen opened his family dentistry office in a historic building, downtown, on the square. In 2003, the building was completely renovated and expanded to accommodate the growing practice.
The Allens participate in many community events and activities, and they support the community, schools, and local non-profit organizations. Their daughter, Katie, has been involved in tennis and dance throughout her high school and college years.
Dr. Allen enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially incorporating new technology and materials into his daily patient care. He feels fortunate to be in a profession in which he can help people enjoy high quality of life through excellent health. He takes special care to keep a warm and friendly atmosphere in his office so that his patients feel well cared for, comfortable, and welcome.
In their free time, Dr. Allen and his wife enjoy working out, hiking, playing tennis, biking, playing cards with friends, watching movies, and traveling.
Misti Dawley
Misti was a dental assistant for 5 years prior to attending school at DMACC, where she studied to become a dental hygienist. She enjoys helping her patients understand the importance of healthy smiles, as well as how to establish and maintain optimal oral health. Misti and her husband live in Montezuma with their son and daughter. Most of their free time is spent enjoying their children and at social activities.
Theresa Dyer
Originally from Ames, Iowa, Theresa graduated from DMACC with an AS and AA degree in dental hygiene in 1993. She enjoys working with patients and helping them sustain healthy smiles for life. She and her husband live in Indianola with their 3 sons and daughter.
Sharon Petersma
Sharon has been a registered dental assistant for over 25 years and has always enjoyed the variety of working in a family dental practice. She loves meeting new people and seeing families grow and change over time. Sharon and her husband Richard have 2 married daughters. They spend their extra time attending their grandchildrens' activities and traveling.
Shari Rose
As a receptionist, Shari's days are filled with scheduling appointments and assisting patients with insurance and billing. She has been a registered dental assistant since 2000. Shari and her husband Don have 1 daughter and live on acreage just south of Knoxville. In her free time, Shari enjoys traveling, shopping, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.
Sue Rozenboom
Sue graduated from DMACC in 1975 and has been assisting Dr. Allen since 1996. More than 30 years as a registered dental assistant give her special insight into the inner workings of a dental office. At the front desk, Sue schedules appointments, answers questions, files insurance, and in the operatories, she assists chairside. Sue and her husband Wayne own a farm near Oskaloosa. They enjoy spending time with their sons' families.
Tracey Vignovich
After 10 years of experience as a receptionist and dental assistant, Tracey became a hygienist in 2007. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have 3 daughters. In their free time, Tracey and her family raise llamas, attend family sporting events, and often spend weekends at the lake.
